Testing Services
Student Success Center
Counseling & Testing Services administers University-related test programs; coordinates the administration of national entrance exams; and offers students the opportunity to take advantage of assessment for personal, educational and career planning.

ACT Residual Testing
Southern Adventist University is an on-campus ACT assessment center for enrolled, admitted or applicant students who are unable to test on a national test date. Results from residual testing are only reported to Southern and cannot be transferred to any other institution or agency. The ACT is composed of tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, and English. For information on upcoming ACT test dates, registration procedures and study preparation select ACT/SAT on the menu bar.

SAT
The SAT program consists of the SAT I:Reasoning Tests, and the SAT II: Subject Tests. The SAT is administered on non-Saturday scheduled national test dates. Registration materials can be obtained from your local high school counselor's office.

National Entrance & Certification Tests
Southern Adventist University is an established non-Saturday National Test Center for the administration of entrance examinations for students applying to graduate and professional schools. Applications for tests such as the GRE subject exam, LSAT, MCAT, and PRAXIS can be obtained at Counseling & Testing Services.

CLEP
Let the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) help you forge ahead on your path to a college degree. You can receive credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on 19 CLEP examinations. Credit earned through CLEP will be posted to the student's record after the student has successfully completed a minimum of twelve semester hours in residence at Southern.

Distance Learning/Correspondence Exams
Students who wish to have Counseling & Testing Services proctor a test from another college or outside agency may do so by making arrangements with the office manager.

Career & Individual Self-Exploration
Assessment tools are available to assist enrolled students examine interests, aptitude, skill, values, and personality traits related to personal and career development.

Diagnostic Testing
Counseling & Testing Services provides screening for individuals with learning problems due to suspected learning disabilities, ADHD, and mental health problems.

 

 

Test and assessment records are confidential and privileged as defined by Tennessee State Law.
